12:44PM - Hoping someone can help!!

Alright, I posted this in my journal and got no response, not sure if anyone here can help me either, but I have to try. I am in the beginning stages of planning my g'f and I's wedding. But I don't know where to start. I am not sure what locations allow gay/lesbian wedding and receptions. Not sure, well just not sure about anything. I am hoping that someone who is familiar or has done this can help! Please, anyone...I'm going crazy. I see all these beautiful reception halls and call and get we don't offer services to glbts...what the fuck...but I guess they are private places and they can say that...so where do I turn? HELP ME!!!

1:54AM - AIDS Walk

In case anyone wanted to know....the AIDS walk is April 17th, come one, come all. 2 legged and 4 legged friends welcome. If you would like to know how much registration is, feel free to leave a comment and I will let you know how much it is.

Come support AIDS and have a great day at Keiner Plaza!!!

Tonight at 9 there will be a story on Fox2 about the link between African-American men cheating on their wives with other men, and the AIDS ademic in the African-American community.

They will not have transcripts available, but I thought I'd put this out there, so that if people feel it's slanted or misrepresenting we could respond unilaterally against it.

11:43PM - Calling all Kings, Queens, and other gender performers

The Bent Boyz have an open meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, December 10th at 6:30 on Washington University campus in the Goldfarb buiding room 222. We have been all people who were drag kings, but we are looking for any kind of performers who want to play with gender. I would love to have a couple drag queens in our troupe as well. If you can't come and/or want more info, reply on my journal with your e-mail adress.

I am looking for a job!
I have crazy amounts of experience in tons of different fields, references, and a solid work history...

(I'm a resume building addict, what can I say?)

Ideal Job:
*full time
*evenings (looking to attend college in Jan)
*close to Dogtown/Tower Grove/The Hill (so it's close to home:)
*office work, non profit work, or work w/ kids (any age or background)
*relaxed, open environment

Of course, most of these things are more than negotiable for the right employer!

Ideas, anyone?

Sorry, i know the cross-posting without lj cuts is really bad manners, but this is SO important and SO timely if I could just reach a few of you, it would be worth the nasty responses.....

I've been an AmeriCorps member for almost two years, and in that time I have made contributions to almost 100 organizations, in labor and volunteer hours.

These programs keep children reading, fed, and nurtured.

We save the lives of countless endangered animals and protect the environment.

People all over this country are affected by disasters every day, AmeriCorps services these people when they will need it the most in their lives.

We contribute to the health and well being of countless Americans.

We are people, from every walk of life, age, race, and religion,

We are seperate in our diversity, but united in that we are volunteering, to make everyone's lives better in this country.

We struggle day to day, financially, mentally and physically, doing what you can't even PAY most people to do.

People who have participated in AmeriCorps program often take what they've learned, and continue to contribute to they're communities, helping others in need either in our spare times or by working in the non-profit sector.

The numbers are mind blowing, the effect, even though we are not a well known program, has a huge impact on our country. The devestation that will happen as a result of these cuts is sickening.

I can’t begin to put even a percentage of what we do, but here are a few local examples:

Farmers and elderly in rural areas, devestated by tornadoes or ice storms, can't even begin to repair damage,
AmeriCorps members come in for over a month to help those that other programs can't/won't reach, even if it's just to move trees or sort debris.

These same members also spend part of their summer fighting fires in MO, along with doing controled burns (at no cost to the Forest Service.)

AmeriCorps members in St. Louis tutor hundreds of kids in inner city schools where the teachers are overworked, underpaid and stressed well beyond they're means. After school programs are run by AmeriCorps members in many of these schools, which, due to the cost of these programs, would not happen otherwise.

Here’s what WILL happen as a result of cuts in AmeriCorps funding:

More kids on the inner city streets with nothing to do.

More children that cannot read

More people left without hope, resources, or even someone to listen during the worst moments of their lives.

I have personally been affected by the time I've been in AmeriCorps. I have learned to deal with conflict, interact with teams, and been given an OPPORTUNITY to work my way through college, something I never thought I would be able to do.

I could go on for a very long time about this and frankly, if I do I might cry. This is a serious issue people, the ramifications of the losses we are facing are horrendous.

PLEASE PLEASE help - just write a letter, however brief, and we will hand deliver it to the President himself. Email adresses and info below.

Thank you. Because someday, you may need us, too.

11:20AM - Advice

I am using this free service to help me out now. I know that I do not know any of you, but still I am having trouble with one issue... Ryan. I feel uncontrollably sorry and depressed about it. I want to kick his ass and make sure that nothing ever happens. Why should this bother me??? I know, right. Wrong. The only issue I am having with it is that (now she is going to find out, please don't be mad Jen) he really did some damage to Jen. Not as much as Erik did, but still some damage. I had to arrest him, and then he told me how he wanted her and how she was a good lay. After hearing all of that, it was really hard to look at her without wanting to cry. What can I do about it? I want to talk to her, but I can't. I wanted to run to her and tell her that I will make sure that he never gets out of jail, but I can't promise her that. Maybe this entry will help out. I don't know. As much as I want to in this world, I want to give her that. She has something better, C. She has someone who loves her and whom she loves deeply. I feel safe knowing that Jen is with her. I have my own issues, but lately after that weekend I feel awful. I am very sorry that I have not called you back, Jen. I need to work somethings out before I can see you, and I will tell you the whole story.

Jen, I am very sorry. I wish that I could take it all away. You are very stong and you know you mean the world to me. You are lucky to have C in your life.

Hey there...

So yeah, for those of you who don't know, Fred Phelps is the pastor of the Westboro Baptist Church, that spends most of their times shouting their foul mouths off about how gay people are going to hell.

Our housing, in the TKE house, is located on the University of Idaho campus, and we'll be the oh-so-lucky recipients of a protest by the organization that he runs.

This is brought on because of 3 drunk frat boys in May of last year, who decided to steal a rainbow flag from the Gay/Straight Alliance(GSA), piss on it, then tried to set it on fire. (Duh, wonder why it wouldn't light!)

They were prosecuted and forced out of the the University of Idaho student senate, like they should have been.

The Westboro Church and Fred Phelps believe that since sodomy is considered a felony in Idaho, it was the GSA who should have been prosecuted.

Yes, this is serious.

Anyway, July 6, at 11 am they will be at the Commons building to burn their own pride flag, instead of stealing one.

My plan is to be there, early, to protest it myself. Hopefully, I won't be the only one there to do so, but if so, who cares. Any suggestions on signage?

I am so heated right now about the whole thing! If you want to know more about it you can check out his volitile website at www.godhatesfags.com
